A London Garden

On Monday 14th March we took a trip to London for inspiration and research into VM and window displays. We visited the famous Dover Street Market, the high flying names of Bond Street and the buzz of Oxford Street, to name but a few. It was aparent there were running themes throughout all brands VM and window displays, all which played a key role in the brand personality and identity.

The key VM and window trends identified for Spring 2011 was the creation of a garden and all things Spring. Grass, wood, flowers, butterflies, birds and mushrooms were all creations in many windows, key window's being Selfridges. Following this was a weather theme incorporating rainbows, clouds and many sun features. Other trends London created for us were 'industrial'; using mechanics, scissors, tools; Minimal; use of black and white as well as block colours, neon brights and coloured wigs.

Here are just a few of our London favourite's...

A D&G English Country Garden

We may be a bit behind on the time for reporting from fashion week in September but D&G staked a claim to the English country garden as inspiration for their Spring 2011 collection at Milan Fashion Week. The catwalk was planted with lavender, dahlias and roses. They held bags stuffed with trowels, miniature watering cans, and D&G pink and purple gardening gloves, and wore red and green rubber "wellies" with four-inch platform soles.
The D&G garden is perfect inspiration for Robinsons Spring wonderland.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG, for us at least.

Some inspiraton for us!

Woodland Princess.

All things woodland is on the brain. Here are just a few beautiful woodland princess shots from the The Harper’s Bazaar Romania ‘Solaris’ Shoot.

If you go down to the woods today....

Oh we can only dream to have been at the Mulberry Show, London Fashion Week 2011! It looks and sounded a magic beauty. Mulberyy Autumn/Winter 2011 offered a woodland inspired wonderland, full of furry creatures and clothes to match.

Opening with An English Country Garden and a reading from Road Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox, Mulberry transformed Claridges’ Ballroom once again into a magical wild wonderland, this time smothered in pretty moss foliage, birds on branches, furry animals and overhead tweeting.
Every fine detail was themed from the invitation to morning tea, cakes which resembled oversized toadstools  and country juices.

Mulberry is one of Robinsons best selling brands so such a fascinating show has left much inspiration for new window displays and merchandising encorporated in store, creating Robinsons own enchanted woodland.
As the Mulberry handbag is Robinson best seller, reports from the Mulberry show on their bags show the Bayswater has been given poacher-style straps and stud closures to form the Heritage Bayswater satchel. Fox locks have been added to the Alexa (look out for fox face rivets instead of traditional screws) who now has a sister, the Buckle Bag, which takes Alexa’s style and shape but features statement gold hardware. Tillie’s been given a quilted update, and two new families, Taylor and Carter, see the Mulberry girl grow up with easy sophisticated shapes.

London Fashion week saw a show that was firmly embedded in Mulberry’s unashamedly English heritage, with a magical twist reminiscent of nostalgic childhood references. True inspiration!

Robinsons Woodland Wonderland..

Reaching stage 2 we are in a Woodland Wonderland for Robinsons. The 'Rook' is an ongoing theme throughout the project, forming Robinsons personality and identity. Thinking all things woodland and birds we stumbled across these beautiful bird inspired images from Trendhunter. WOW!
